What is the Streeter Connection?

Here we have a second photograph of “Slouchy” who we saw just last week. This cabinet card was made by GA Streeter, who we presume to be Arthur Streeter, the photographer we saw posed with his camera. This man does not have any resemblance to the rest of the family that I can tell, so perhaps he was Kate Parrish Streeter’s relative? I’ve not been able to find Kate on any census records prior to her marriage to Arthur, so it’s difficult to trace her or to know if this is one of her people.

From the “Wakefield (Kansas) Advertiser” Married–On May 1, 1889 by Rev. F. Lippem Mr. Arthur Streeter and Miss Kate Parish at the residence of the bride’s parents. Success to you, Arthur.

Junction City is located on the other end of Milford Lake from Wakefield.

Ancestry.com lists her in 1880 US Census –
    Kate L Parish
    Birth: abt 1869 – Kansas
Residence: 1880 – Leavenworth, Leavenworth, Kansas

You can see two pictures (cabinet cards) of her here:

Iggy, please don’t be mad when I tell you that those are my cabinet cards that I posted to Ancestry. I had to start a tree so I could keep the family straight. :-) I also figured if there are any other Streeter relatives out there, they might like the photos. The Streeter Family Tree that I started has Lucas/Lucius/Lewis Streeter as the home person, and it progresses down from him. That was Kate’s father in law.

P.s. Note only one “r” in Parish. Also, her father might have been called Paris (no “h”).

The 1880 census info I left above is incorrect though.

Kate L Parish (1869-1896) is marked on the cabinet card.
